Montesilvano, a city of over 47,000 inhabitants lies on the shore of the Adriatic with its seafront shaded by palm trees and other ornamental plants. It has an international standard tourist resort thanks to its first-class hotel complexes, other kinds of accommodation and entertainment facilities. Behind the lively city centre, on a hill framed with pine trees where the original city centre used to be, several artistic and historical buildings can be found. Montesilvano is part of the metropolitan area of Pescara and can be reached via the A14 motorway (Pescara Nord exit) and the Adriatic rail line.
